I’m excited to share that my podcast, Museums in Strange Places, has won the Honorable Mention Award in the Podcasts category of 2018 AAM MUSE Awards, organized by the AAM Media and Technology Professional Network. It is such an honor to be in the same category as some of my all-time favorite podcasts: SF MoMA’s Raw Material, Bullock History Museum’s Texas Stories, and MoMA’s A Piece of Work.
MUSE awards recognize outstanding achievement in Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums (GLAM) media. The international Alliance Media & Technology Professional Network’s annual awards are presented to institutions or independent producers who use digital media to enhance the GLAM experience and engage audiences. The MUSE awards celebrate scholarship, community, innovation, creativity, education and inclusiveness. Winning projects for each category are chosen by an international group of GLAM technology professionals and the awards presented at the Annual Meeting & MuseumExpo. Each category awards four levels of award: Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Honorable Mention. All winners receive a beautiful award plaque and are listed in perpetuity on the Media and Technology MUSE Awards list of past winners.
Thank you to everyone who has listened and shared the podcast and helped me get here in under a year. So proud of the podcast so far, and I’m excited to share more episodes from Iceland and new seasons from elsewhere in the world (stay tuned for announcements).
Welcome to Museums in Strange Places. I’m your host, Hannah Hethmon, and this is a podcast for people who love museums, stories, culture, and exploring the world.
This year, I’m living in Iceland, and in each episode, I visit a different Icelandic museum to discover what stories they hold and how they reflect and shape Iceland’s unique cultural identity.
The podcast is hosted by me, Hannah Hethmon, an American Fulbright Fellow living in Reykjavík. You can find and follow me on Twitter and Instagram @hannah_rfh.
